Richard Edwards MSc MA VetMB MRCVS (Partner)
Graduated from Cambridge University in 1989 having "gone the long way around" picking up degrees in Agriculture & Applied Zoology and also in Animal Production along the way. He came down to work in Chichester in 1991 and set up AlphaPet in 1993.
His particular interests are wildlife and exotic animal medicine, mountain biking, scuba diving, walking his 3 dogs, supporting his 13 cats and more recently trying to become a good parent to his daughter, Lorna!

Doug Alexander MA VetMB MRCVS (Partner)
Graduated from Cambridge in 1985. Joined AlphaPet as an assistant veterinary surgeon in April 1995. He joined the Partnership in June 1998.
His particular areas of interest are small animal orthopaedics and his expanding young family (currently standing at 3 daughters).

Paul Irvine-Smith BVSc MRCVS (Partner)
Graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1999, Paul joined AlphaPet in April 2001 and became a partner in September 2004.
He has particular interests in ultrasonography and radiography which have brought another strength to the AlphaPet team. Paul mainly works at our Kingley clinic.
He lists amongst his interests and hobbies, windsurfing, kite-surfing, swimming, scuba diving, mountain biking, model aircraft flying and underwater hockey!

Catherine Williams BA VetMB MRCVS
Catherine graduated from Cambridge University in 1997 and joined us in August 2003. She has proved an instant hit with everyone, both staff and clients.
She has a number of pets of her own and when not at work, will often be seen walking her dogs in the Downs

Claire Thomas MA VetMB MRCVS
Claire graduated from Cambridge and joined AlphaPet in April 2005. Claire has already fallen into the AlphaPet ethic by taking on a sick Golden Retriever puppy to join her other dog, Bryn.
Claire has particular interests in small animal dentistry.

Nicole Nagel MRCVS
Nicole qualified in Germany, and spent 3 years working in a small animal practice in Rugby before deciding to move south to indulge her passion for sailing. She brings with her her two dogs and her particular interests in dermatology and small animal behaviour.

Jemima Scott BVetMed MRCVS
Jemima qualified from London. Just before she was due to start with AlphaPet, she took a skiing trip and ended up seriously damaging her knee. Fortunately, after a short delay, she was able to join us bringing particular interests in aspects of medicne and surgery

Rutendo (“Tendo”) Manyarara BSc(Hons) BVetMed MRCVS
Tendo qualified from London along with Jemima. She enjoys all aspects of medicine and surgery and has a great way with animals.

Adrian Ward BVetMed BSc MRCVS
Adrian qualified from London in 1996, has run his own practice and now enjoys photography in his spare time.
He’s also now doing his bit for the environment and cycles in to work most days, so please try not to knock him off.
