We are a 100% small animal practice offering a full range of veterinary services including:

We are open 7 days a week, every day of the year (Bank Holidays are emergencies only) and have routine Saturday and Sunday surgeries (pets don't get ill Monday to Friday 9-5pm!).

We are open Mondays to Fridays from 8.30am until 7.00pm, plus Saturdays from   8.30am until 6.00pm and Sundays from 10.00pm until 1.00pm, all for routine appointments. We then have an internal 24 hour emergency service operating outside these hours. We do not use external emergency services since we believe that our clients would far prefer to see an AlphaPet vet in times of crisis rather than a vet they have never seen before from a practice they have never heard of and have no idea how to get to.

24 Hour Emergency Service

24 Hour Consulting RoomThis service is manned by AlphaPet staff meaning that, should you need us, you will be talking to a veterinary surgeon from this practice who has access to you pet's clinical notes.
For emergencies out of normal hours, telephone the normal surgery number (01243 842832)  and you will be connected to an ansaphone which will give you the mobile  number for the duty veterinary surgeon for that day or night. Call that number and you will speak directly to the vet who will be able to assist you.

Late surgeries to 7pm Monday to Friday

Saturday surgeries until 6pm

Sunday surgeries 10am to 1pm

Home Visits

We are happy to make home visits where necessary, but please remember that we are limited in the amount of equipment and drugs which we can carry. In most cases, it is better for you and your pet to come to one of the surgeries if at all possible.

Nurse Clinics

Our nursing team run various FREE clinics, such as Dental Clinics, Weight Clinics, Senior Pet Clinics, Puppy Parties and Tortoise Clinics.

They are also able to carry out routine worming, suture removal, Program injections and other forms of flea control including Frontline applications.

Like their human equivalents, our qualified nurses also carryout a number of minor surgical procedures as well as many of the non-surgical procedures such as radiographs and electrocardiographs.

Preventative Medicine

As well as emergency medicine and providing treatment when your pet is sick, we also provide a wide range of help and advice to keep your pet healthy.

Vaccinations

We provide a full range of vaccinations for all dogs, cats and rabbits, together with appropriate advice. We provide vaccinations on an individual risk basis to make sure that we do not vaccinate unnecessarily. Click on the links to see more details for particular species.

We also provide a full microchip identification, vaccination and advice service for PETS Travel Scheme to allow you and your pet to travel abroad safely. Click on the PETS travel Scheme link for further information.

Behaviour Counselling

Whether it be our qualified nurses or our veterinary surgeons, the advice you receive from us will be the best and most up to date.

Full Hospitalisation facilities
